Yieldbroker Announces Thursday 15 October for its Annual Charity Day
Yieldbroker will hold this year’s Charity Day on Thursday 15 October 2020. On this day, all trading revenue will be donated directly to Rett Syndrome, Mirabel Foundation and NF Research.
As the only market charity day that includes both buy-side and sell-side participants, it’s a way for the entire financial markets community to come together to support a range of compelling causes.
In selecting our charity partners, the focus is on those causes where we believe our support and contribution can make a substantive impact on the outcomes achieved. As an example, last year’s donation to Rett Syndrome research is reported to have reduced the estimated time of finding a cure by six months.
We also look to support causes that are important to the participants in the markets we service. The story of Brett Anslow (First Sentier) and his daughter Holly has resonated with many of our clients and employees; the potential to improve the outlook for Holly and children like her is the reason Rett Syndrome research will remain our major charity partner in 2020.
We will continue to support research into Neurofibromatosis (NF) at Westmead Children’s Hospital. NF is a disease that causes children to develop tumours that can result in severe disfigurement, blindness and deafness. Sadly, such disfigurement in children leads to a high suicide rate during their formative years.
Funds to Rett Syndrome and Neurofibromatosis will be donated through Westmead Children’s Hospital Annual Radiothon on Friday 16th October, where every dollar will be matched, effectively doubling the impact of your charitable contribution.
We will be contributing to Mirabel Foundation for the first time this year, a charity that assists children orphaned or abandoned due to parental drug abuse and who are left in the care of extended family. Mirabel’s mission is to break the destructive cycle of drug addiction and restore a child’s sense of self-worth.
The impact of COVID-19 has created difficulties for all three charities we interact with and, in this particularly challenging year, the support that we can provide will make a major difference in their work.
We are asking you to help in two ways:
- By trading on our platform on 15 October 2020 - all trading revenue goes directly to our charity partners
- Through your own institution’s charitable activities, contributing directly or volunteering
