Yieldbroker.com today announced it had reached
agreement with Standard Poor’s to publish credit ratings information on
Yieldbroker’s multi-contributor fixed income debt trading portal.
This will include credit ratings for all rated Australian government, semi-government and corporate
bonds and New Zealand government bonds which are displayed on Yieldbroker's website.
Standard & Poor's is a leading ratings agency and provider of independent financial information.
Yieldbroker's General Manager, Rachael Rogers, said the agreement with Standard & Poor's was an
important step in its commitment to deliver customised, electronic fixed income debt market information
and trading.
"Yieldbroker not only offers clients co-mingled research and trading from leading participating market
makers, but clients will also have secure access to S&P credit ratings assigned to the bonds quoted on
our system," Ms Rogers said.
Commenting on the delivery of credit ratings information, S&P's Managing Director, Chris Dalton, said
"we are delighted to have formed an alliance with Yieldbroker for the delivery of our credit ratings
information. It is an exciting first for S&P Australia to participate in this type of multi-contributor platform."
Yieldbroker.com, operating since May 2000, launched its co-mingled fixed income trading platform in
May 2001 following government and regulatory approval, a first for the Australian bond market.
"The client uptake has been especially pleasing with 5 large institutional fund managers signing up in
the first 2 weeks of going live," Ms Rogers said. "We now have 26 clients who regularly access the
indicative pricing functionality and the addition of S&P credit ratings will add enormous value to the
information already available to clients on Yieldbroker".
Commenting on the speed and efficiency of Yieldbroker's trading system, Alliance Capital's Director of
Passive & Enhanced Fixed Interest, Mr. James Alexander, said "we were skeptical at first, but so far
Yieldbroker has proven to be a reliable and efficient trading platform. Our passive fixed interest portfolio
managers now use the site for both trading and price discovery. The ability to request simultaneous
market quotes from four of the larger price-makers in the Australian market at the touch of a button, is
certainly an attractive feature of this site."
Yieldbroker.com is currently the only multi-contributor research and fixed income debt trading portal that
is live and operating in the Australasian markets.
Access to Yieldbroker.com is free of charge and clients can commence trading following the execution
of standard form electronic trading client agreements.
